◆ Arc
Delete your Arc data or account
Two paths depending on whether you want to delete just your identity history or also your account credentials.
Delete your account (email request)
To permanently delete your Arc account — including your linked email or Google sign-in credentials, your anonymous user identifier, and all identity history stored on Arc's servers — send a deletion request:
- Email arc.app.contact@gmail.com from the email address linked to your Arc account, or include enough information for us to identify your account if you signed up anonymously (approximate sign-up date, your subscription order ID, etc.).
- Use the subject line "Delete my Arc account".
- We will acknowledge receipt within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days, in accordance with applicable privacy laws (DPDP Act 2023, GDPR Article 17). In practice we usually complete deletion within 1-3 business days of receiving the request.
This is the path to take if you want everything removed — account, credentials, and identity history.
Delete only your identity history (keep your account)
If you want to start fresh as a new identity without losing your account credentials or subscription, you can wipe your identity history from inside Arc:
- Open Arc on your device.
- Tap the Profile tab at the bottom.
- Scroll to the About arc section.
- Tap Become someone else.
- Confirm. Your identity statement, daily actions, check-ins, streaks, focus sessions, weekly reports, Mirror reflections, time capsule letters, and challenge progress are immediately deleted from Arc's servers.
What this option deletes: Your identity-related data and history.
What this option keeps: Your account credentials (the email or Google account you signed in with), your Pro subscription (if active), and your device settings (push token, timezone, notification preferences).
Use this if you want a fresh identity but want to keep your Arc account. Use the email request above if you want everything deleted.
What is deleted
- Your identity statement (e.g., "A disciplined person who keeps their word")
- Your "why now" answer and obstacle
- Your daily action completions and dates
- Energy check-ins and optional notes
- Streak history and current streak
- Focus session records
- Challenge progress and reflections
- Weekly report insights and engagement
- Mirror reflections (AI-generated identity reveals at milestone days)
- Compass snapshots (identity radar values)
- Time capsule letters (whether sealed, delivered, or unread)
- Achievements and rank progress
- Push notification token and notification log
- Subscription pairing (the subscription itself continues on Google Play until you cancel it separately)
- Your email address and display name (if you signed in)
- Your anonymous user identifier
What is retained, and for how long
- Subscription billing records — held by Google Play (we cannot delete these on your behalf). Cancel via Google Play → Subscriptions → Arc Pro. After cancellation, Google Play retains billing records per their own policy (typically 7 years for tax purposes).
- Support correspondence — if you've emailed us, those email threads remain in our support inbox for 1 year, then are deleted.
- Aggregate analytics — Arc currently uses no analytics SDKs, so no aggregate behavioral data is retained outside of what's already covered above.
- Sub-processor logs — Supabase, RevenueCat, Resend, and Expo each retain short-term operational logs (typically 7-90 days) per their own policies. These do not contain your identity content; they are infrastructure logs (request timestamps, status codes, etc.). See our privacy policy §6.1 for the full list.
How long deletion takes
- Option 1 (in-app reset): Immediate. Server-side rows are deleted before the "Become someone else" tap returns. No retention period.
- Option 2 (email request): Acknowledgement within 7 days; completion within 30 days. Faster on request — usually within 1-3 business days.
Important — cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your Arc account does NOT cancel your Google Play subscription. To stop billing, open the Google Play Store app → tap your profile → Subscriptions → Arc Pro → Cancel.
Questions or trouble
If you can't access the in-app reset (e.g., you've reinstalled and lost access to the linked account), email arc.app.contact@gmail.com with whatever identifying information you have — your previously linked email, approximate sign-up date, or subscription order ID — and we'll locate and delete your data.
